EACOP is a 1,443km crude oil export pipeline that will transport Uganda’s crude oil from Kabaale – Hoima in Uganda to the Chongoleani peninsula near Tanga port in Tanzania.
Worley will support EACOP partners led by international French company TotalEnergies, through the execution and delivery of the project.
Job Brief.
In-Country based ICS/Telecomm’s Engineer with expertise in the Engineering of Oil transmission systems, pumping stations, storage / terminal facilities
Responsible for assisting the construction team to interpret the AFC Design and to respond to formal construction queries regarding ICS/Telecomms design conflicts. Where alternatives to the engineered design are proposed the Role will require a level of expertise to either accept and approve the modification or to reconise where the proposal should be referred to the Head Office Engineering team for further consideration.
Role and Responsibilities.
•Monitor compliance with the COMPANY CONTRACTOR engineering document deliverables and data.
•Field engineering inspections of instrumentation controls, ICSS, SCADA installations.
•Field engineering inspections of telecoms, fibre, backbone, and CCTV network installations.
•Field engineering inspections of instrumentation installation, interconnects, hook-ups, termination, & testing activities.
•Field engineering inspections of HVAC & Fire Alarm Protection (FAP) control systems installations Review SAT’s and ensure the test report data and results are verified and endorsed.
•Providing guidance to supervision and junior field engineers on day-to-day engineering objectives
You’ll Have:
•University Degree, or equivalent, in related subject (electrical/instrumentation/telecom’s) or equivalent trade qualification combined with further relevant training and experience.
•Experience within a Field Engineering role in the same or similar environment.
•Those with degree typically have 5+ years relevant experience.
•Those with trade qualifications will typically have 10+ years relevant experience.
•Membership of a related Professional Institution or body preferred.
•Familiarity with the site H3SE requirements to enable safe operation of the Field Engineer and those working with and for them.
•An understanding and or interpretation of the specific contract scopes or work.
•Strong understanding of home discipline engineering and deliverables.
•Strong understanding of home discipline installation / construction techniques and approaches.
•Strong understanding of the relationships between home and other disciplines
•General knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as; IEC, NFPA,
•Demonstrated proficiency in the interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
•Demonstrated knowledge inspecting telecoms, fibre, backbone, and CCTV network installations.
•Demonstrated knowledge inspecting instrumentation controls, ICSS, SCADA installations.
•General knowledge inspecting MV/LV power systems, MCC, and sub-stations installations.
•General knowledge inspecting pre-fab modular buildings and HVAC/FAP control system installations
•A familiarity with the design tools used in the home discipline engineering and an understanding of systems, processes and tools specifically related to the site.
•Good communication skills to be able to inform and persuade on complex matters as well as collaboration with stakeholders and management.
•Ability to interpret Local, National and Project design codes and specifications
