Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead the sales efforts in Arusha, Tanzania. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, preferably within the safari industry, and possess a deep understanding of the East African safari landscape. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a safari company while enjoying the beauty of Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth and expand market share in the East African safari industry.
  • Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, travel agencies, and industry partners to generate leads and secure bookings.
  • Provide expert guidance and personalized recommendations to clients, ensuring their safari experiences meet and exceed expectations.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and changes in the East African safari landscape to remain competitive and adaptable.
  • Coordinate closely with other departments, including operations and logistics, to ensure seamless execution of safari itineraries and exceptional customer service.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of success in sales management, preferably within the safari industry, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve targets.
  • Deep knowledge of East Africa, particularly Tanzania, and its wildlife, national parks, and safari destinations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed to accommodate client needs and operational requirements.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office suite and CRM systems.
