We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a prestigious property in Zanzibar. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in hospitality management, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all operational aspects of the resort, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and guest services.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize efficiency, productivity, and guest satisfaction across all departments.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancement of services.
- Coordinate with department heads to ensure seamless coordination and communication, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of staff members, ensuring alignment with the resort’s values and standards.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to uphold quality standards, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Manage budgetary and financial processes, including forecasting, cost control, and revenue optimization.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to support promotional activities, enhance the resort’s visibility, and drive revenue growth.
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, striving to exceed expectations and maintain positive relationships.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape, leveraging insights to enhance the resort’s offerings and competitive positioning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, with a focus on operations management.
- Proven track record of success in optimizing operational efficiency, enhancing guest satisfaction, and achieving financial targets.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with a results-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in hotel management systems and other relevant software applications.
- Fluency in English (additional languages such as Swahili would be an advantage).
- Eligibility to work in Tanzania.
