Job Summary:
The National Sales Manager – Tanzania, is tasked with a leadership/supervisory role of steering the sales teams across Tanzania towards achieving set sales targets, and the overall business unit sales targets. The position will work through all sales teams with support from the senior leadership and implementing strategies on penetrating and conversion of sales in existing and new markets in all Branches for the business unit profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work in collaboration with the Managing  Director-Tanzania, prepare and manage sales targets in line with company yearly budgets for increased profits and growth to the business unit;
  2. Organize and implement marketing strategies in the counties for sales growth in collaboration with the Nairobi Branch and Divisional Operations Managers through the sales teams;
  3. Lead Dar es Salaam business development/growth/increased profits by acquiring new businesses through the sales teams, in line with the agreed Branch monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets;
  4. Coordinate preparation of sales reports/projections, weekly, monthly and quarterly through Customer Services Administrators for analyses on the progress and target achievements;
  5. Lead in maintaining a healthy revenue/cash flow in the business unit by enforcing active collection by the sales teams as per the set down procedures and sales processes.
  6. Retain and manage existing and new clients through the sales teams, supported by all Branch and Operations managers;
  7. Head Sales teams in Nairobi, supervising and monitoring them by checking the daily/weekly and monthly sales activity levels for target achievements;
  8. Recruit develop, coach, and train and support all Sales Teams in conjunction with the related bodies/departments. Communicate and coordinate training of any new sales products/service lines to the respective teams. This includes coordinating exchange programmes/joint training for the sales teams for exchange of ideas and teamwork enhancement;
  9. Drive product and service penetration in existing customers through the sales teams. Advice the Tz business unit on ways of widening the product line and values added services if need be by comparing product offerings internally and with competition;
  10. Develop and manage accounts plans for corporate clients and liaise with the CST team in generating the top 20 national watch lists and the watch lists from Branch Sales Teams;
  11. Create and manage a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities through the teams;
  12. Participate in the development of marketing and sales strategies, making suggestions on sales/customer retention strategies, service offerings, and market analysis feedback for penetration;
  13. Analyze national potential and determine the value of existing and prospective customers to the organization. Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential through the teams;
  14. Coordinate and manage required assistance on tender preparation. Ensure that the materials/proposals/quotations getting out to both prospective and potential clients are effective and in line with company policies and procedures;
  15. Work/liaise with all departments to ensure customer satisfaction by coordinating and solving customer’s issues as they arise;
  16. Manage and coordinate a successful implementation of annual price increase in Tanzania where applicable; and
  17. Develop and submit consolidated Tanzania sales reports in a timely manner for management decision making.
  18. Ensure through the sales, customer care/admin teams, all sales for the Branch business unit are captured in designated pipeline reports by the Sales Administrator.
Principal Outputs of this Role:
  1. Business unit sales targets achievements through the county sales teams.
  2. Retention of business unit portfolio through minimal terminations and new market penetration.
  3.  Effective implementation of set business plan and Branch sales budgets
  4. Motivated sales teams in the counties (Hunters)
  5. Create teamwork and healthy competition within the Branches. (Sales oriented or as per business unit plans)
  6. Maintain and nurture a satisfied client base.

Accountability:
The Tanzania Sales Manager is accountable to the  Managing Director  for the responsibilities stated in this job description. These responsibilities will be monitored and managed through the mid-year and annual performance review and supported through the monitoring of KPIs.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/Administration, Sales or Marketing;
  • Professional marketing qualifications and membership to Professional Marketing Institutions;
  • At least eight (8) years relevant experience, 3 of which should have been at a Management or senior Supervisory level;
  • Knowledge of current trends in marketing management, public relations and digital marketing communications;
  • Knowledge in market research and product placement; and
  • A good knowledge and aptitude for technical security services combined with IT skills
