Role: Medical Administrator
Location: Dar es Salaam (Office based with site visits)
Project: EACOP
Duration: 2 years (renewable)

Job Description:
To support the EACOP project by providing comprehensive administrative and medical assistance, ensuring the seamless operation of medical services within the project’s infrastructure. The role involves coordinating with medical personnel, managing medical records, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
The project anticipates the mobilization of ~ 10,000 personnel in two countries – a large multicultural workforce with many people who have a very low risk awareness and limited health and safety culture.
Several risks related to the remoteness area, limited infrastructure, significant transport & road risk, tropical disease etc.
The remote locations are key considerations for MEDEVAC and Emergency Response.
Activities:
1.Administrative Support:

  • Manage and organize medical records and documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate medical appointments for staff.
  • Handle correspondence and communication related to medical services.
  • Assist in the preparation of medical reports and presentations.

2. Medical Coordination:

  • Liaise with medical staff and external medical service providers.
  • Coordinate emergency medical responses and ensure readiness of medical facilities.
  • Manage the logistics of medical evacuations and other medical emergencies.
  • Constant contact with medical teams in charge of hospitalized patient.

3. Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with health and medical laws and regulations in TZ and in UG.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on medical activities and health statistics.
  • Assist in developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and inform HR about all the released Fitness Certificates for COMPANY staff (administrative document).
  • Provide support for the ‘Fitness to Work’ plan for all EACOP employees and contractors to ensure it meets COMPANY requirements and country’s occupational health regulations and laws.
  • Assessment of Tanzanian occupational health providers, to ensure that workers receive high-quality medical care and that the company employs fit workers.

4. Patient Care and Support:

  • Educate staff on health and wellness programs and initiatives.
  • Support the MSM with any relevant medical information on time for COMPANY (sources: MOH, WHO, CDC, Alert sites, Local sources).
  • Support the MSM in the Review and update medical procedures in place / propose new ones.
  • Participate in development of health awareness and prevention campaigns and appropriate communication for improvement of health culture.

Qualifications and Experiences Required:

  • Previous experience in a medical administrative role, preferably in a large-scale project environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in medical record management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and fitness to work policies.
  • Perfect Knowledge of the network of Tanzanian Medical Facilities.
  • Perfect knowledge of Tanzanian laws and regulations.
  • Previous international medical experience.
  • Previous experience in international oil & gas industry appreciated.
