Maurel & Prom is an Oil and Gas exploration and production company listed on the regulated market of Euronext Paris specializing in the production of hydrocarbons. It manages corporate, environmental, and social risks. Within Tanzania, the Mnazi Bay & Msimbati gas fields have been on-stream and continuously producing since 2006, making Mnazi Bay a significant contributor to the gas supply for power in Tanzania. Maurel & Prom Exploration Production (T) Limited is seeking to recruit a dynamic and result-oriented person to fill a vacancy of a Gas Plant Operator reporting to Operations Leader. The Operator will generally be responsible in monitoring, controlling and regulating gas flow at the GPF.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to any radio calls
  • Initiates plant equipment work requests
  • Monitors and optimizes all well production, plant, and field equipment
  • Regularly writes operating procedures
  • Assists in pipeline pigging when needed
  • Ensures that all utility systems including diesel and gas generation engines, instruments, air, fire pumps, potable water, and evaporator systems are operating efficiently
  • Undertakes routine checks and monitoring of all process equipment from wellhead to delivery, including separators, re-boilers, wellheads, manifolds, and pumping systems in accordance with established operating procedures and practices Log and record all operation data, analyzes and identifies abnormal operating conditions and takes appropriate steps toward correcting or reporting the problem(s) found
  • Ensures that recording and production reporting are carried out timely and to the required standards
  • Liaise closely with the Control Room Operator to adjust or regulate the process as may be required
  • Promotes and implements the company’s safety, Health, and environmental policies
  • Performs all laboratory tests including PH analysis, salinity, temperature, specific gravity, conductivity, oil in water, and tri-ethylene glycol concentration analysis
  • Promotes and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the control room, sleeping room, and washing room
  • Train and mentor junior operating staff
  • Safely operates any company vehicle, trucks, and quads
  • Reporting damage or needed repairs of all vehicles to the mechanical maintenance staff
  • Performs any other duty as assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Petroleum / Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution
  • A Tanzanian National
  • Must possess good analytical skills, and laboratory skills
  • Must be execution orientation with an ability to execute, and deliver results with minimum supervision
  • Previous relevant experience in oil and gas operations is preferable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
