Job Description

Summary of the Role

Will be responsible for supporting AMCOS and helping them grow, In exchange for their loyalty in selling their coffee to Cotacof to build strong relationships with select AMCOS. Our goal is to assist them and their members in producing more high-quality coffee, with the understanding that they will sell it back to Cotacof. The AMCOS Coordinator is responsible for bringing this goal to life in a handful of AMCOS.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Communication & Marketing: 

  • Complete annual scorecards for each AMCOS, share their results (and improvement areas) and onboard them to the Loyalty Program
  • Support expansion scouting to new AMCOS on a need basis
  • Attend each AMCOS Annual General Meeting, briefly presenting Cotacof and the Loyalty Program ensuring overall excitement among members about the partnership
  • Present and market the Cotacof Loyalty Program to local government stakeholders
  • Ensure marketing materials and SWAG are distributed and visible to stakeholders
  • Take all opportunities to market the benefits of the Loyalty Program to potential members and stakeholders throughout the year

Certification Support:

  • For new AMCOS partners, systematically enter data of all members in CropIn system
  • For existing AMCOS, annually review the farmers in CropIn and add new members of the AMCOS as well as archive any members that have left or are inactive
  • Each year, train AMCOS on Environmental Leadership and Social Responsibility
  • Support the hiring and onboarding of Certification Casuals annually
  • Monitor a team of Certification Casuals, ensuring that they timely and accurately complete internal inspection surveys, crop forecasts and polygon mapping

Financial and Operational Support: 

  • In close collaboration with Loyalty Program Manager, support AMCOS with timely and complete loan applications for required working capital and assets loans
  • Support implementation of digital record keeping and accounting tools, providing monthly checks that books and bank accounts balance
  • In close collaboration with Loyalty Program Manager, support AMCOS to optimize their operational cost structure by identifying and solving for inefficiencies
  • In close collaboration with Loyalty Program Manager, support AMCOS to resolve ad-hoc challenges and issues that may arise (e.g. conflicts with members, delayed loans, etc.)
  • Ahead of the collection season, host a CPU bootcamp ensuring that operators are trained on both health and safety as well as overall operations
  • 1 day/week per AMCOS, provide CPU/traceability supervision during collection months

Farmer-facing activities:

  • Train 100% of Lead Farmers on 4 agronomical trainings per year; ensuring that Lead Farmers cascade training materials down to their group member
  • Collect soil samples from 10-30% of farmers in each AMCOS, analyze the result and return results to farmers and AMCOS with actionable recommendations
  • Launch demo plots in selected AMCOS and work closely with Lead Farmer to ensure spotless execution of Cotacof’s agronomical recommendations

Cotacof Culture:  

  • Providing strong customer service in all interactions with AMCOS and farmers
  • Champion Cotacof culture and values in all work-related activities

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Agricultural or community development experience
  • At least 5 years of working experience
  • At least 2 years managing people
  • Proficiency in using digital tools e.g. smartphones/tablets
